Automotive DT DRIVER

Part-Time Dealer Trade Driver (DT Driver) Modern Toyota of Boone | Boone, NC Pay: $12.00–$15.00 per hour, with a $25 minimum trip payment

ABOUT THE POSITION

Modern Toyota of Boone is looking for a dependable, safety-conscious Part-Time Dealer Trade Driver to join our team! This is an on-call, hourly position ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working independently, and helping our dealership deliver an excellent customer experience.

Drivers transport vehicles between dealerships, deliver vehicles to customers, and assist with other vehicle transportation needs as assigned.

PAY & POSITION DETAILS

• Standard drivers: $12.00 per hour, with a $25 minimum trip payment.

• Notary-certified drivers: $15.00 per hour, with a $25 minimum trip payment.

• Standard trips exceeding 2 hours on the road are paid at the hourly rate.

• Notary-certified trips exceeding 1.75 hours on the road are paid at the hourly rate.

• Part-time, on-call schedule based on dealership needs.

• Maximum of 29 work hours per Monday-through-Sunday workweek.

• Drivers are not eligible for company benefits.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Safely deliver vehicles to customers, dealerships, and designated locations.

• Follow delivery schedules and instructions from the DT Driver Coordinator.

• Communicate professionally with customers and dealership personnel.

• Maintain accurate records of hours worked and driving time.

• Submit required driver logs, time records, and expense receipts promptly.

• Represent Modern Automotive professionally throughout every delivery.

• Follow all company driving, safety, and reporting policies.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious work habits.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent education or experience considered.

• Notary certification is a plus and qualifies eligible drivers for the applicable higher pay rate.

IMPORTANT DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

• Drivers may not work more than 29 hours in any Monday-through-Sunday workweek.

• Driving is limited to 10 hours or less within any 24-hour period.

• Seat belts are required. Smoking, texting, talking on a cell phone while driving, and speeding are prohibited while driving for Modern Automotive.

• All accidents must be reported to the police and the dealership immediately.

• Drivers must maintain accurate driving logs and comply with company safety and reporting policies.

• Required driver fitness documentation must be completed annually.
