Original job description

About magniX: Based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, magniX builds solutions for the electric age, applying its aerospace-grade batteries, power electronics, power distribution, electric engines, and software to mission-critical applications across data centers, energy storage, defense, mobility, space, and aerospace. Built on an 800-volt architecture, magniX technology delivers industry-leading energy density, cycle life, and safety, and magniX electric engines have powered more than 200 flights across six different airframes, where the company remains the industry leader. As magniX extends its aerospace-grade standards into new markets, we are building a commercial organization to match, and are now ready to take our technology and products to market. Be part of a passionate team that is ushering in the electric age. About the Role: As part of the Software Engineering team, the Embedded Software Engineer develops and verifies embedded software that powers magniX electric propulsion, motor control, and battery energy storage systems. This role spans the full software lifecycle, from requirements definition and software architecture through implementation, integration, verification, certification, and product release, helping deliver reliable, high-performance, and safety-critical solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with other software engineers and also systems, hardware, test, safety, and certification engineers to develop next-generation electrified power systems. In this role, you will solve challenging technical problems related to energy storage, power conversion, motor control, system monitoring, communications, and real-time embedded control while contributing to products deployed in demanding real-world applications. You will collaborate with experienced multidisciplinary teams, influence software architecture and engineering processes, and see your work progress from concept and design through verification, certification, and deployment. The ideal candidate is passionate about embedded systems, enjoys working across engineering disciplines, and is motivated by solving complex technical challenges in advanced electrification technologies. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and set up verification tools and test environments, including Software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL).
Maintain software configuration management, change control, and end-to-end traceability of software artifacts throughout the development lifecycle.
