SPORTS INSTRUCTOR

Do you enjoy working with youth and have a passion for sports? We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Sports Instructor to lead youth sports programs in a safe, fun, and positive environment. The Sports Instructor will help youth develop athletic skills, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship while creating a welcoming experience for participants and families.

SCHEDULE:

This position requires availability Monday through Friday after 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays to support class coverage. The final schedule will be determined at a later date and will include hours within these timeframes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead engaging youth sports classes and activities
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
• Build positive relationships with participants, parents and staff
• Maintain accurate attendance and timekeeping records
• Assist with keeping program areas clean, organized and safe
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and emergency protocols

Qualifications:

Experience working with children in sports, recreation, coaching or related programs preferred Strong communication, organization and group management skills Dependable, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team Ability to commit to the full program year and maintain consistent attendance

Supervision of Youth:

• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
• Attend required abuse risk management training.
• Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
• Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
