Drill Rig Operator

Our client, a leading construction company, is looking for a Drill Rig Operator to join their team for projects in the Chesapeake, VA area. This is a traveling position for an experienced, safety-first operator to join an expanding deep foundations and earth retention operation backed by a strong backlog of signature projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate large-diameter hydraulic rotary rigs (Soilmec, Bauer, Liebherr) for soldier piles, drilled shafts/caissons, secant walls, and auger cast (CFA) piles
• Operate small-diameter/multipurpose rigs (Comacchio MC series, Klemm, etc.) for micropiles, tieback anchors, soil nails, and rock bolts
• Work safely around heavy equipment and active construction traffic at all times
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs independently and use team-lifting techniques for heavier loads
• Perform work at various heights and in tight spaces with good balance and dexterity
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures on active construction sites

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years of direct, verified seat time operating large-diameter hydraulic rotary rigs or small-diameter/multipurpose rigs
• Experience with soldier piles, drilled shafts, secant walls, CFA piles, micropiles, tieback anchors, soil nails, or rock bolts
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and reach for extended periods on active job sites
• Willing and able to travel as required

Pay & Schedule:

• Pay Rate: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Traveling position
