About the Positions

We’re seeking Senior Project Managers to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, bridges, transit (bus and rail), aviation (international airports), and water/wastewater projects delivered through both traditional and alternative delivery methods. Your primary focus will be centered on station fit-out and building systems packages, where mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection work has to be sequenced and verified so the systems that follow it (traction power, train control, communications, fare collection, and vertical transportation) can be installed, integrated, and tested on schedule.

This post is for future roles and not for a specific opportunity that is available right now. We accept applications and conduct interviews in advance of upcoming hiring needs. When a candidate is selected, their profile is activated in our talent pool for this specialty area. We notify our talent pool candidates first whenever we have a project need.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of station fit-out and building systems packages, holding contractors to scope, criteria, budget, and schedule commitments.
  • Review design submittals, shop drawings, and coordination models for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection work against program standards, project criteria, and applicable codes.
  • Perform constructability and biddability reviews on fit-out and systems interface scope, track comment resolution to closure, and support bid-phase addenda, bidder questions, and bid evaluation.
  • Manage the interfaces between civil and architectural fit-out work and the follow-on systems packages, including traction power, train control and signaling, communications, fare collection, and vertical transportation.
  • Verify that conduit, cable tray, equipment room, power, grounding and bonding, and mechanical provisions are installed and tested so systems contractors can take beneficial occupancy on schedule.
  • Evaluate change proposals, requests for information, and design change notices for technical merit, cost, and schedule impact, and recommend a position with supporting documentation.
  • Maintain the integrated package schedule, analyze contractor schedule updates and time impact analyses, and surface float erosion and critical path risk early.
  • Administer package contracts, including progress payments, quantity verification, submittal and RFI logs, and the record needed to avoid and defend against claims.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and turnover readiness across packages, and track punch list and closeout items to completion.
  • Oversee safety, quality, and risk by auditing contractor programs, participating in inspections, and verifying that corrective actions close out.
  • Coordinate with agencies, utility owners, facility operations staff, and adjacent contracts to sequence access, outages, and shutdowns around active service.

Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork, trust, and positive relationships.
  • Natural curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of project management experience for large (>$500M), complex, heavy-civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience overseeing building systems or interior fit-out scope, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection work, from design review through commissioning and turnover.
  • Experience with contract administration, including submittals, requests for information, change orders, progress payments, and claim documentation.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing CPM schedules, including contractor updates, time impact analyses, and critical path and float assessment.
  • Working knowledge of the building, electrical, mechanical, and fire and life safety codes that govern systems installation and acceptance.
  • Experience with industry standard project / construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Unifier, Kahua, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or construction management.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through CMAA, or Project Management Professional (PMP) through PMI.
  • Experience coordinating systems installation and integration scope, such as traction power, train control and signaling, communications, or fare collection, across multiple contracts.
  • Experience overseeing construction in or adjacent to an operating transit facility, including work windows, outages, and safety certification requirements.
  • Owner’s representative, program management, or construction management experience.
  • Experience coordinating testing, commissioning, and turnover of complex facilities to an operations and maintenance organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other dashboard KPI reporting software.
