Today, we're a luxury Western heritage brand with teams across corporate, retail, production, and distribution, and our craft depends on the people behind it. We're looking for a talent leader who can help us attract, grow, and keep the people who carry that legacy forward. The Opportunity This is a new role and a rare chance to build an integrated talent function from the ground up. As Director, Talent and Performance Enablement, you'll own how Lucchese attracts, develops, evaluates, and grows its people across the enterprise. This is a true player-coach role. You'll design the processes, run them yourself, and build the capability of a small, talented team and the broader HR organization to deliver them with the consistency and quality expected of a luxury heritage brand. What You'll Do Build the talent system

  • Design, implement, and manage end-to-end talent processes, including planning, performance, talent reviews, succession, promotions, and internal mobility.
  • Simplify and standardize processes so they work across corporate, retail, production, and distribution teams.
  • Establish and report talent metrics such as key-talent retention, internal fill rate, and bench strength.

Shape organizational capability

  • Lead workforce and capability planning, including skills gaps, critical roles, and build/buy/borrow options.
  • Develop and implement a Lucchese competency and leadership framework.
  • Create apprenticeship, mentoring, and certification programs that preserve and pass on specialized craft knowledge.

Enable performance

  • Implement a performance approach built on ongoing goal-setting, feedback, and coaching.
  • Equip leaders to hold effective performance conversations, recognize excellence, and address underperformance fairly.
  • Partner with Total Rewards to connect performance outcomes to pay, recognition, and promotion.

Grow and develop our people

  • Lead the Learning and Development plan, including leadership development, manager essentials, onboarding, craft skills, and luxury retail client experience.
  • Lead succession planning for critical roles and develop high-potential and emerging leaders.
  • Deliver the annual Crafting Lucchese Internship program with our university partners.
  • Design career pathways that make growth visible across functions, locations, and job families.

Lead Talent Acquisition

  • Lead the Talent Acquisition team, processes, technology, vendors, and budget.
  • Build scalable recruiting models for corporate, retail, skilled craft production, and distribution roles.
  • Build and own an employer brand and candidate experience that reflect the Lucchese brand and values.
  • Track and report Talent Acquisition metrics, including time to fill, quality of hire, offer acceptance, source effectiveness, and early retention.

Champion fair and compliant practices

  • Ensure hiring and promotion practices meet legal and EEO requirements and applicable federal, state, and local law.
  • Build structured, job-related selection and promotion processes with clear documentation.
  • Train hiring managers and interviewers on fair, unbiased hiring and promotion practices.

Lead and coach

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Talent Acquisition and talent development professionals.
  • Build the capability of HR Business Partners and HR Operations to run talent processes consistently.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leadership on talent strategy and risk.

What You Bring Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years leading talent management, organizational development, and/or talent acquisition.
  • A track record as a player-coach who builds talent processes and programs in a growing or scaling organization.
  • Experience supporting multi-site retail, production, distribution, and corporate populations.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state employment law.
  • Experience with talent analytics, HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and learning platforms.
  • Strong process design, facilitation, and coaching skills with leaders at every level.

  • Master's degree.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
  • Luxury or heritage brand experience.

You'll Thrive Here If You

  • Use data to make decisions and measure what matters.
  • Know how to move work forward across functions and build adoption.
  • Lead with integrity and handle sensitive matters with discretion.

Working Conditions

  • Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends as business needs require.
  • Travel of approximately 20–30% to retail, production, distribution, and corporate locations.
