Saw Operator

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable Saw Operator to operate an automatic vertical band saw and cut steel stock to customer specifications. This role requires manufacturing experience, the ability to read blueprints, and accurate measuring skills to within 1/16 inch.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate an automatic vertical band saw to cut steel materials according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production instructions.
• Measure materials accurately using a tape measure.
• Maintain raw material inventory and organize stock.
• Unload, store, and move incoming steel materials safely.
• Operate an overhead crane and forklift.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on saw equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience required; band saw operation experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch .
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds .

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds .
