Original job description

At Warehaus, our architectural team works across a diverse range of projects, from large-scale commercial and industrial facilities to renovations and adaptive reuse. We're looking for an experienced Architectural Designer who can contribute to both design development and technical documentation. If you enjoy turning design concepts into detailed, buildable solutions - and want to stay involved from early design through construction - this is a role where you'll stay engaged. The role, at a glance This position focuses on developing architectural drawings, models, and construction documents while working closely with project architects, managers, and engineers. You'll be involved throughout the design process, from schematic design through construction administration, with opportunities to contribute ideas, solve technical challenges, and take ownership of portions of the project. What you'll do

  • Develop architectural drawings and construction documents from schematic design through construction documentation
  • Prepare models, renderings, diagrams, and presentation materials to communicate design concepts
  • Translate design intent into accurate, coordinated construction documents
  • Apply knowledge of building materials, construction methods, codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in design discussions, charrettes, and project coordination meetings
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and other project team members
  • Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, and punch lists
  • Assist with permitting and regulatory approval processes
  • Maintain organized, accurate project files and drawing sets throughout each phase
  • Manage assigned design and production tasks within project schedules and budgets

What you'll bring

  • 3-5 years of professional architectural experience working on commercial, industrial, institutional, renovation, or adaptive reuse projects
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in architectural detailing, design development, and construction documentation
  • Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and applicable building codes
  • Experience with construction administration processes, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and punch lists
  • Familiarity with local and state permitting and regulatory approval processes
  • Ability to communicate design intent and coordinate effectively with project teams and consultants
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
  • Architectural registration in Pennsylvania and/or LEED accreditation are a plus, but not required

What it's like here

  • A mix of projects - from large-scale commercial and industrial facilities to renovations, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse
  • Long-tenured leadership that supports growth and development
  • Consistently strong onboarding feedback:
  • 100% of new hires agree their first 3 months matched their expectations
  • 100% say they feel like a valued member of their team
  • 100% are satisfied with the tools and technology provided

Why Warehaus Warehaus is a 40-person architecture and engineering firm based in York, PA. We work closely across disciplines, so you'll see how your work connects to the full project, not just your piece of it. Our projects span commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, and municipal work throughout Central Pennsylvania and beyond.
