Standard Job Description

Who We Are At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), we turn bold ideas into mission-critical capabilities for those who protect our nation. Our Owego team is pioneering a new era of collaborative autonomy by developing Group 1 / 2 uncrewed aircraft that launch from, operate alongside, and team with crewed platforms. This is an opportunity to help define a capability from the ground up, take it from the lab to the flight line, and see your work perform in the real world. We are looking for hungry, smart, and enthusiastic engineers who are excited to work on cutting-edge, tangible products in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. If you are ready to shape the future of autonomous teaming and deliver technology that takes flight, join us. What We’re Doing We are seeking a Systems Engineer Sr to join our team in Owego, NY, supporting the Launched Effects Family of Systems (LE FoS). You will play a key role in transforming mission and customer needs into technical solutions by developing requirements, defining software and hardware interfaces, supporting verification activities, and contributing to system checkout. This role supports the development of collaborative-autonomy-enabled small UAS applications, including Group 1 / 2 UAV development and airborne launch operations. You will work across engineering disciplines to help define, integrate, verify, and mature mission-critical capabilities from initial concept through system demonstration. The Work You will support the development of system requirements for the LE FoS. You are comfortable working across disciplines, navigating requirements and interfaces, and collaborating with software, hardware, integration, test, and customer teams. You are energized by challenging problems, fast-moving programs, and the opportunity to see your work become a real capability. You bring experience with embedded systems and collaborative autonomy, an understanding of system integration and avionics lifecycle processes, and a passion for mission success. Whether you are defining requirements, resolving an interface issue, or supporting a flight demonstration, you take ownership, communicate clearly, and remain focused on delivering reliable, high-quality systems.
