Overview

LMI is seeking a talented and mission-driven Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and modernize secure, scalable, cloud-native software applications and platforms supporting critical federal missions. This role will help transform how government organizations build, deploy, integrate, and manage modern digital capabilities through intuitive applications, robust backend services, and reliable platform integrations.

In this hands-on engineering role, you will design, develop, integrate, and maintain full-stack software solutions using TypeScript, Angular, Node.js or Python, PostgreSQL, and modern API-driven architectures. You will take ownership of complex features and production applications, make sound architectural decisions, and build secure, maintainable solutions that operate across cloud and on-premises environments. You will collaborate closely with product teams, platform engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and government stakeholders to deliver modern digital capabilities that improve operational efficiency, accelerate software delivery, and support mission-critical operations.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government, efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors - helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.

  • Develop back-end services, business logic, and RESTful APIs using Node.js or Python.
  • Design and optimize databases, queries, and application data access layers using PostgreSQL.
  • Independently lead complex software features and make architectural decisions that balance scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Support application modernization through cloud-native architectures, reusable components, and automated workflows.
  • Implement secure coding practices, authentication, automated testing, and DevSecOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, improve application performance, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, platform, and cybersecurity teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevSecOps practices.
  • Ability to work independently with evolving requirements, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools within a disciplined engineering workflow.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
