About the Position LIVE is seeking a Security Assistant to support the Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC) at Naval Submarine Base (NSB) Kings Bay, Georgia, on behalf of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE). The Security Assistant provides administrative support in industrial security, personnel security, and access control for NAVFAC SE employees, contractor personnel, and site visitors working on base construction projects. The position reports to the NAVFAC SE Command Security Manager (CSM) for administrative and technical oversight and works in direct, day-to-day coordination with ROICC Kings Bay on operational execution and project priorities. This is an on-site role at NSB Kings Bay.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate security clearance qualifications and background investigation determinations in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) for contractor personnel, NAVFAC employees, and designated site visitors requiring access to the base and construction compounds.
• Facilitate and process Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) access requests.
• Enforce proper badging procedures in coordination with installation security.
• Process and sign contractor and employee badging requests for personnel working on NAVFAC SE projects, including SUBASE badge applications, PIDAS requests, vehicle requests, camera requests, and LA badging requests.
• Manage and execute security protocols and provide administrative security support to all personnel and contractors involved in NAVFAC SE projects.
• Represent NAVFAC SE on matters relating to contractor vetting, industrial security, and access to restricted areas.
• Coordinate with the NAVFAC SE Command Security Manager and ROICC Kings Bay staff on security requirements, request status, and project priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing personnel security, industrial security, or access control administrative support for the Department of Defense or another federal agency.
• Working knowledge of the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
• Familiarity with DoD personnel security and industrial security program requirements, including DoDM 5200.02 and 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM).
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and installation access at NSB Kings Bay, and to safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Privacy Act–protected information.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with government staff, construction contractors, and installation security personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior security support experience at a Navy installation or within a NAVFAC/ROICC construction environment.
• Experience processing restricted-area and waterfront access requests at a submarine base or similar high-security installation.
• Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) certification, such as the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).
