ABOUT THIS ROLE
As Systems Engineer III, you will serve as the primary architect and administrator of our enterprise Okta ecosystem and SaaS integration footprint. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT Operations, this senior individual contributor role is charged with auditing, standardizing, and optimizing our identity architecture to eliminate toil and enforce strict security postures. Working alongside Security, Networking, and Application engineering teams, you will establish dependable operational baselines, build resilient automations, and safeguard access to mission-critical platforms.
This role is based on-site out of our corporate headquarters in American Fork, Utah.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the global administration, configuration, and architectural integrity of the Okta tenant, including SSO policies, adaptive MFA, and lifecycle management workflows.
- Perform an immediate, exhaustive audit of the existing identity infrastructure to baseline configurations, remediate technical drift, and establish complete operational documentation.
- Architect and scale automations using Okta Workflows, REST APIs, and scripting (PowerShell/Python) to streamline end-to-end user provisioning, de-provisioning, and role transitions.
- Scope, implement, and maintain enterprise SaaS integrations (such as Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Jira) via SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and SCIM protocols.
- Build robust telemetry, alerting, and proactive reporting to monitor integration health, detect authentication anomalies, and resolve performance bottlenecks before they disrupt operations.
- Partner with InfoSec and Compliance teams to enforce zero-trust identity policies, support access certification reviews, and provide audit-ready evidence for regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to translate evolving business requirements into scalable, secure identity patterns and contribute to the broader infrastructure roadmap.
- Provide advanced tier-III troubleshooting support for complex authentication incidents, participating in an informal, low-volume on-call rotation for critical access disruptions.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- 5+ years of dedicated systems or identity engineering experience within high-growth enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Deep, authoritative hands-on expertise administering and architecting the Okta platform; this specialization is the core qualification for the role.
- Proven success configuring and troubleshooting enterprise SaaS integrations leveraging SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SCIM directory syncing.
- Proficient scripting ability in PowerShell or Python to interact directly with identity APIs and automate complex lifecycle processes.
- Demonstrated self-sufficiency and investigative rigor, with a track record of stepping into undocumented environments, identifying operational risks, and driving systematic remediation.
- Exceptional documentation discipline and a clear communication style capable of articulating identity risk and architecture to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Background managing cloud directory services and role-based access controls across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (such as Okta Certified Administrator, Okta Certified Consultant, or equivalent) or a degree in Computer Science/IT are preferred advantages.
BENEFITS
We believe you do your best work when your whole life is supported. We invest in our crew’s health, families, and financial futures with a benefits package designed to support you inside and outside the office. Full-time benefits include, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits (401k match up to 4%), and flexible PTO.
