Join a trusted, family-owned company with a proud history, a strong presence in Northeast Ohio, and commitment to exceptional customer service!

Founded in 1924, Liniform is a fourth-generation, family owned and operated company providing professional linen, uniform, and facility service solutions to businesses throughout Northeast Ohio. For more than a century, we have built out reputation on reliability, quality, and personalized service.

As an established company serving customers across healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, and other essential industries, Liniform continues to evolve, innovate, and pursue opportunities for growth. Our success is built on long-standing customer relationships and the dedicated employees who make exceptional service possible.

At Liniform, we believe our employees are essential to our continued success. We offer competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, a team-oriented work environment, and opportunities for professional development and career growth.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Route Backup Driver to join our growing service team.

In this position, you will play an essential role in maintaining the dependable service our customers have trusted for generations. Working closely with our Route Manager and Route Service Representatives, you will provide coverage for established delivery routes, ensuring customers receive their linen, uniform, and facility service products accurately, safely, and on schedule.

Unlike drivers assigned to a single route, our Route Backup Drivers support multiple routes, offering variety in their daily responsibilities and the opportunity to develop strong relationships with customers throughout our service area.

The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, enjoys working independently while part of a team, and demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, accountability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company delivery vehicles along established routes, providing coverage for scheduled absences, vacations and other operational needs.
  • Deliver clean linens, uniforms, mats, and related products while collecting soiled items from customer locations.
  • Build positive customer relationships through professional, courteous, and responsive service.
  • Perform and document required vehicle inspections, ensuring safe operating conditions and compliance with company policies.
  • Load, unload, organize, and secure products and carts using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, inventory counts, customer orders, and required documentation.
  • Follow established procedures for safely handling and separating clean and soiled products.
  • Identify customer needs and communicate opportunities for additional products or services to support customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, organization, and readiness for daily operations.
  • Collaborate with Route Manager, production team, and fellow drivers to ensure efficient service and timely resolution of customer concerns.
  • Support additional deliveries, operational activities, and service assignments as business needs require.

What We're Looking For

  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurability requirements.
  • Previous experience in delivery, route service, customer service, or route sales preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and adapt to different customer routes.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a safety-first mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that includes indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position requiring entry and exit from delivery vehicles, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling products throughout the workday.

Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally move loads weighing up to 100 pounds using appropriate equipment or assistance.

Work Schedule

Full Time | Primarily Monday - Friday.

Work hours may vary depending on route assignments and customer service needs. Occasional Saturdays, overtime or schedule adjustments may be required.

Why Choose Liniform?

What makes Liniform a great place to build your career?
