Cook Assistant

This is a part-time position that includes weekend and holiday shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)

• Assist with food inventory by monitoring proper food temperature, rotating, and storing food properly.
• Assist in cleaning food prep areas, cooking surfaces, and cooking utensils.
• Assist in operating large-volume cooking equipment (i.e. grills, fryers, griddles).
• Assist in preparing and serving beverages (i.e. coffee, soda)
• Asist in washing, cutting, and preparing foods.
• Assist in food requisitions, inventory of deliveries for accuracy and quality.
• Assist in maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Cover for Cook in their absence.
• Ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Maintain standards of confidentiality of Lifeways’ clients and records.
• Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with Lifeway’s policies/procedures, Oregon Administrative Rules, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.

Required:

• Successful completion of a background check
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid Food Handlers Certification

Preferred:

• 1-3 years’ experience in food service
