Responsibilities

The column line operator is responsible for safely and efficiently producing wooden columns. This position is the heart of column production. Ability to maintain pace, even when unsupervised is paramount in this position.

• Work safely and ensures that other employees are aware of safety standards
• Verify and document needs for raw materials
• Work with lumber material handler to ensure that line is never down waiting on raw material
• Verify and record quantities of parts scrapped
• Aid in cycle counts throughout the department
• Aid in continuous improvement activities as assigned
• Seek out plant supervisor for priorities/assignments as needed
• Keep work area clean throughout workday as well as a comprehensive cleaning at end of shift
• Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the operation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively for 8-10 hours a day
• Ability to frequent standing/walking /stooping/turning while carrying materials
• Ability to operate a forklift is preferred
• Ability to read tape measure and mark product as required
• Good organizational skills
• Good communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Must be a team player

Salary Range $17.50 an hour This represents a good faith estimate of the current salary range based on the level and requirements of the role. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on individual qualifications including, but not limited to relevant job knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. An employee may be eligible for additional premium pay.
