Salary Range: $28.00-$30.00 Per Hour

An additional $1.96 per hr up to 40 hrs per week for H&W per w/d 2015-5689 Rev26.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER

General Maintenance workers are responsible for inspecting and identifying equipment or machines in need of repair, troubleshooting electrical issues to determine necessary repairs, and performing general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. This includes tasks like repairing drywall, painting, fixing doors, and maintaining building systems. Workers will perform routine maintenance on equipment, patch minor holes in walls, repair or replace sinks and toilets, paint structures, and replace damaged flooring.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
• Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs
• Perform general repairs, such as drywall repair, painting, fixing doors, and building fixtures
• Conduct routine maintenance on building systems
• Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings
• Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound
• Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets
• Paint structures and equipment
• Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery
• Carry out janitorial duties, including cleaning, dusting, mopping, and maintaining the facility
• Order supplies and materials needed for janitorial tasks
• Perform groundskeeping, landscaping, and exterior maintenance when required
• Carry out other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers
• Knowledge of electrical systems, general janitorial, landscaping, and construction
• General knowledge of grounds and lawn equipment
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Capable of maintaining a Safe Work environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Frequently required to stand
• Frequently required to walk
• Frequently required to sit
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
• Continually required to talk or hear
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally work in high, precarious places
• Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
• Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
• Occasionally exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but can be moderate or loud during some project work
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
• Position may be subject to shift or irregular work hours

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Related experience preferred
• On-the-job training offered
• USACE EM 385-1-1 (Preferred)
• OSHA 10hr or 30hr (Preferred)
