Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist LaSalle Network is partnering with our client to hire a Payroll Specialist for an on-site contract opportunity in Chicago, Illinois. This Payroll Specialist will support a busy restaurant/hospitality environment and will be responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, including tips and mixed employee types (hourly, salaried). This is an exciting Payroll Specialist role because you will have direct C-suite exposure, a steady and predictable cadence tied to alternating payroll schedules, and the chance to make an immediate impact by ensuring the team is fully supported especially during the holiday season. Responsibilities - Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including payroll for tipped employees, salaried employees, and hourly employees. - Manage payroll administration and respond to staff payroll questions in a pleasant, professional, and solutions-oriented manner. - Support payroll processing across two alternating schedules (including Illinois and Florida payroll weeks) and adjust workload accordingly. - Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll issues and ensure accurate, timely processing. - Assist with general accounting exposure tied to payroll operations, including light AP/AR support as needed. Qualifications - 1+ year of payroll processing experience using Toast. - 1+ year of experience working with Restaurant365. - 2+ years of overall payroll experience (restaurant/hospitality experience strongly preferred). - Ability to handle the administrative and customer-service side of payroll, including frequent staff communication and problem solving. - Ability to work through key holiday periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s) without extensive planned time off. - Comfortable in an independent, small-office environment with direct leadership interaction.
