L3/L4 SQL DBA

We’re seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator for a contract opportunity supporting a confidential client in North Scottsdale, AZ. This role focuses on hands-on enterprise database administration, production support, performance tuning, and database availability. What’s the job? - Administer and maintain enterprise Microsoft SQL Server databases

• Investigate and resolve production database issues affecting performance, availability, and reliability
• Perform database upgrades, patching, and migration activities
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and backup and recovery processes
• Monitor database health, resource utilization, and capacity
• Develop and maintain T-SQL and PowerShell scripts to support database operations and automation What’s needed? - Strong hands-on SQL Server administration experience in enterprise production environments
• Experience resolving complex database incidents and performance issues
• Experience with database upgrades, patching, migrations, backups, recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery
• Working experience with T-SQL and automation scripting
• Ability to independently troubleshoot issues and perform day-to-day database administration
• Currently located in the Phoenix metro area and able to consistently work onsite in North Scottsdale Tuesday through Thursday
• Always On Availability Groups and SQL Server replication experience preferred
• PowerShell automation experience preferred
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs preferred
• Database monitoring and capacity planning experience preferred
• Legal authorization to work in the United States Key Details - Compensation: $50–$70/hour
• Location: North Scottsdale, AZ
• Work Model: Onsite Tuesday–Thursday (three days per week)
