Dispatcher

Our client, a transportation and distribution company with 11 locations nationwide, is hiring a Dispatcher for its West Chicago location. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who will plan and dispatch daily routes and keep customers and drivers connected in a hands-on, fast-moving environment. What’s the job? - Plan and dispatch 4 to 5 routes each day

• Act as the main point of contact between customers, drivers, and the operations team
• Handle time-sensitive and last-minute delivery requests by phone and email
• Work closely with an onsite dispatcher and operations manager
• Learn to support invoicing over time What’s needed? - Some dispatch, logistics, or transportation experience
• Strong aptitude, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn
• A solid understanding of logistics
• Clear, confident communication on the phone
• Ability to stay calm when priorities shift
• Comfort in a hands-on, manual environment with no dispatch software. Candidates from LTL backgrounds often find this a big adjustment, so we’re looking for people excited by that style of work
• Top skills: phone and email communication, route planning, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Key Details - Compensation: $30–$34/hour
