Benefit Account Representative

A growing healthcare organization in Oak Brook, IL is hiring a Benefits Account Representative. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for professionals with banking, accounting, billing, or reconciliation experience who thrive in a detail-oriented, process-driven environment. The Benefits Account Representative will manage health benefit enrollments, reconcile contributions and payments, and process COBRA applications while supporting overall benefits administration. What’s the job? - Process healthcare enrollments, benefit elections, and monthly employee and employer contributions

• Apply credits and debits, reconcile monthly work and payment reports, and balance employer accounts
• Verify employer payments, identify discrepancies, and track outstanding balances
• Review, process, and maintain COBRA coverage applications
• Review plan documents and collective bargaining agreements to determine enrollment and contribution requirements
• Pull key details from contracts and accurately enter information into internal spreadsheets
• Maintain accurate benefits and financial records while meeting processing deadlines
• Communicate professionally with internal teams and external partners to resolve enrollment and payment questions What’s needed? - 1+ year of administrative, billing, accounting, or reconciliation experience within banking, accounting, medical insurance, or benefits administration
• Demonstrated comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial records daily
• Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• High attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a customer service mindset
• Familiarity with COBRA, HIPAA, or ERISA is a plus Key Details - Compensation: $19–$20/hour
