Summary
Performs and oversees custodial services at an assigned elementary school to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and secure environment. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining facilities and grounds, supervising custodial staff, monitoring building systems, supporting events, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and responding to safety or operational concerns.
Essential Duties
- Clean and inspect classrooms, offices, restrooms, gyms, common areas, and grounds.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and direct assigned custodial staff.
- Assist with employee performance, problem-solving, and personnel matters.
- Coordinate custodial activities with school administration and Custodial Supervisors.
- Monitor boilers, alarms, building systems, and facility conditions.
- Respond to safety, maintenance, vandalism, and operational concerns.
- Set up facilities and grounds for school activities and special events.
- Perform minor maintenance on custodial equipment, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and plumbing.
- Prepare the building for daily operations and remove snow from entrances and walkways.
- Secure doors, windows, gates, lights, and alarm systems.
- Order and maintain custodial supplies and equipment.
- Deliver and move supplies, equipment, furniture, packages, and materials.
- Attend required meetings and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
