Original job description

At Lalamove, we believe in the power of community. Millions of drivers and customers use our technology every day to connect with one another and move things that matter. Delivery is what we do best and we ensure it is always fast and simple. Since 2013, we have tackled the logistics industry head on to find the most innovative solutions for the world’s delivery needs. We are full steam ahead to make Lalamove synonymous with delivery and on a mission to impact as many local communities as we can. We have massively scaled our efforts across Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Europe and now have our sights on taking our best in class technology to the rest of the world.

As we continue to grow in the U.S. technology plays an important role in supporting our local operations and the systems our teams rely on everyday.

We are looking for an Application & IT Support Engineer based in New York. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on application support, with opportunities to contribute to development work while supporting the day-to-day technology needs of our New York office. You’ll work closely with end users and our broader technology team to troubleshoot issues, improve systems, and keep our local technology environment running smoothly.

What you'll do

• Application Support: Own day-to-day application support by investigating issues, troubleshooting errors, managing support requests, and coordinating escalation when needed. Work directly with users to understand problems and identify effective solutions

• Development & System Improvements: Contribute to application enhancements and bug fixes using Java, write SQL queries to support data and troubleshooting needs, test and debug code, and participate in technical discussions around system improvements and application functionality

• IT & Users Support: Provide L1/L2 technical support for employees across laptops, desktops, printers, operating systems, connectivity, and other workplace technology. Support hardware setup and deployment for new and existing employees

• User & Access Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across company applications. Support onboarding and offboarding activities while following company security and access standards

• IT Operations & Documentation: Maintain office technology and equipment inventory, support routine system administration, and keep technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge resources up to date

What we seek

• 1-3 years of experience in application support, technical support, software development, or a related technical role

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience

• Working knowledge of Java or another object-oriented programming language, with basic to intermediate SQL skills

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose application and technical issues through resolution

• Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS environments and fundamental networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi

• Strong communication skills and a user-focused approach to technical support, with the ability to prioritize across multiple technical needs

• Nice to have: Experience with networking or infrastructure, ticketing/monitoring tools, or scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies

What you'll find here

At Lalamove, our work is guided by four core values: Passion, Grit, Humility, and Execution.

You’ll join a fast-moving environment where technology has a direct impact on how our teams operate every day. This role offers the opportunity to work across application support, development, and IT operations while collaborating with both local and global teams.

If you enjoy solving problems, learning as you go, and taking ownership from issue to resolution, we’d love to hear from you.
