Learn more at www.kpff.com. Our New York City office reflects this approach in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong and consistent project pipeline. The team works across a diverse mix of projects, including commercial developments, tenant improvements, adaptive reuse and renovation work, as well as select civic, K–12, and retail projects. Much of the work is driven by repeat clients and active project timelines, creating an environment where team members gain meaningful, real-world project experience early and often. As part of our NYC team, BIM professionals work closely with structural engineers throughout project delivery, gaining exposure to how designs develop from engineering concepts into coordinated models and construction documents. You’ll see how structural systems come together, collaborate across project teams and disciplines, and play an important role in producing accurate, coordinated work. It’s an environment for someone who wants to strengthen their technical BIM skills, take ownership of their work, and continue growing within a structural engineering practice.
Job Description
KPFF is seeking an experienced Structural BIM Modeler to join our New York City Structural team. In this role, you’ll work closely with structural engineers and BIM professionals to develop accurate, well-coordinated Revit models and construction documents for a variety of building projects. You’ll be an important part of project delivery, taking ownership of BIM modeling, CAD, and documentation while coordinating closely with engineers and other project disciplines. We’re looking for someone who brings a strong Revit foundation, understands how structural projects move from design through documentation, and can work independently while staying closely connected to the broader project team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced BIM/CAD professional who wants to deepen their structural expertise, take on meaningful project responsibility, and continue growing within a collaborative engineering practice. What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain structural BIM/CAD models and construction documents using Revit, taking ownership of accuracy, consistency, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with structural engineers, BIM/CAD leads, and project teams to translate engineering concepts and design information into coordinated models and drawings.
- Coordinate with architects and other design disciplines, proactively identifying and helping resolve model conflicts and coordination issues.
- Apply BIM/CAD standards and best practices while adapting to project-specific requirements and deliverables.
- Support project documentation, including plans, sections, details, schedules, and other model-based deliverables.
- Participate in model reviews and quality checks, identifying and resolving inconsistencies before deliverables are issued.
- Manage BIM/CAD priorities across assigned project work, communicating effectively with engineers and project teams to keep deliverables moving.
- Contribute to BIM/CAD workflows and team practices, sharing knowledge and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and coordination.
