Position Overview
Kiewit Mining District is seeking an experienced Mine Manager to lead mining operations and provide overall direction for project execution. This position will be responsible for safely and effectively managing field operations, leading project teams, maintaining production goals, and ensuring work is performed in accordance with project requirements and Kiewit standards.
The ideal candidate is an experienced mining leader with a strong background in field operations, safety, team leadership, and production. This individual should be comfortable leading superintendents, engineers, foremen, craft employees, and subcontractors in an active mining environment.
District Overview
Kiewit Mining Group specializes in mine management, production, infrastructure construction, and maintenance. The district's capabilities include exploration, geologic analysis, permitting, feasibility studies, planning, facility design, contract administration, and transportation coordination.

Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day mine operations, production, and project execution.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Kiewit, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the project’s Mining Safety Plan and Safety Program are implemented and followed.
- Lead Superintendents, Engineers, Foremen, craft employees, and subcontractors.
- Ensure field leaders understand and enforce safe work practices and required safety training.
- Conduct or ensure completion of documented site safety inspections and corrective actions.
- Ensure required toolbox, foremen, and project safety meetings are completed.
- Participate in the review and follow-up of safety-related incidents.
- Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment.
- Drive accountability for safe, efficient, and effective field execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent mining experience considered.
- Significant mine operations and field leadership experience.
- Experience leading Superintendents, Foremen, Engineers, and craft teams.
- Strong knowledge of mine safety, production, and operational practices.
- Knowledge of MSHA requirements and mining regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
