Software Engineer

Kforce has a client in Waltham, MA that is seeking a Software Engineer to work onsite 5 days/week. The Software Engineer will develop and deliver software solutions within a CAD/MCAD environment. This is a backend-heavy development role focused on building applications, add-ins, APIs, integrations, and automation tools. This role will develop working, installable reference solutions; support integration, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting; identify API/SDK/tooling gaps, and provide documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

• Strong C#/.NET development experience, especially backend software engineering; This has consistently been a core requirement
• CAD/MCAD software experience, ideally developing software tools, applications, add-ins, or integrations within a CAD environment
• SOLIDWORKS experience is ideal, but comparable CAD platforms such as Siemens NX, AutoCAD, Revit, CATIA, Creo, etc., have been considered
• API/SDK development, especially CAD APIs, plugins, add-ins, integrations, and engineering workflow automation
• Experience building production software, not just using CAD as an end user. The client wants someone who has built applications/tools for the MCAD industry
• REST/JSON APIs and secure credential handling
• Git, build/release processes, testing, and debugging
• Windows application installation, packaging, versioning, and updates
• API/SDK troubleshooting and reproducible defect reporting
• Ability to create technical documentation, sample code, and knowledge-transfer materials
• VBA/VSTA macros experience
• Python experience
• 3D experience
• AI/LLM or external-service integration experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
