Accounts Receivable Manager- Billing & Collections

Kforce is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager - Billing & Collections for a client in the Saint Louis, MO area.

Summary:

This position will lead a team responsible for billing, collections, cash application, account reconciliation, and related Order-to-Cash activities. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can set expectations, monitor performance, coach and develop employees, and create accountability while maintaining a solid understanding of day-to-day Accounts Receivable operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of billing and collections professionals
• Manage daily billing, collections, cash application, and reconciliation activities
• Establish and monitor individual and team KPIs related to productivity, quality, aging, collections, and service levels
• Coach employees, provide timely feedback, and address performance gaps
• Lead Accounts Receivable reviews and drive follow-through on outstanding risks and action items
• Monitor customer account risks, disputes, escalations, promises to pay, and collection activity
• Oversee period-end activities and reconciliations
• Analyze AR performance, aging, DSO, and other key metrics
• Partner cross-functionally to resolve operational issues and improve processes
• Support process improvement, automation, and technology initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce manual work
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; Equivalent education and experience will be considered
• 7+ years of progressive Order-to-Cash, Accounts Receivable, billing, collections, or related experience
• 3+ years of direct people management experience
• Demonstrated experience coaching employees, managing performance, and driving accountability
• Strong billing and collections experience
• Experience utilizing KPIs and account-level data to manage team performance
• Experience with ERP or financial systems
• Knowledge of cash application and account reconciliation
• Understanding of AR metrics including aging, cash flow, and DSO
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Workday, NetSuite, Salesforce, or comparable platforms is a plus
• Experience with system implementations, process improvement, automation, or AI-enabled tools is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
