Accountant II

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accountant II in Los Angeles, CA.

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant II to support general accounting, financial analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities. This role will be responsible for journal entries, month-end and quarter-end close, revenue and cost accruals, variance analysis, and other accounting activities.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, Big Four experience, strong SAP knowledge, and the ability to manage high-volume workloads in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and accruals
• Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Complete account and general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare revenue and distribution cost accruals
• Perform P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis
• Analyze financial results and provide explanations for significant variances
• Reconcile sub-system activity to the General Ledger
• Support intercompany and related-party accounting and reporting
• Perform cash, prepayment, and other balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare financial reporting packages, schedules, and management analysis
• Review contracts and evaluate appropriate accounting treatment
• Support quarterly and annual audit requirements
• Assist with SOX controls and compliance activities
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis
• Support ERP implementation, testing, and accounting transformation projects as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-4+ years of accounting experience
• Minimum 2 years of Big Four public accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Strong financial analysis experience
• Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
• Month-end and quarter-end close experience
• Experience with P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis
• Hands-on SAP and Business Warehouse (BW) experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, nested formulas, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Ability to manage high-volume workloads and strict deadlines
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or CPA candidate
• Oracle Fusion or other ERP experience
• Hyperion, Essbase, or Oracle EPM experience
• International accounting experience
• IFRS knowledge
• ERP implementation or transformation experience
• Media, entertainment, or similar industry experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
