The Estimator is responsible for preparing and coordinating preparation of full estimates on projects required by client’s documents and provides total bid price. This position is at the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transit (HART).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or like field.
• 5 – 8 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Currently a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with software programs such as, RSMeans Cost Database, Sage 300, Econpack, PACES, MCACES MII.
• Able to operate in a professional office environment.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time while working on the computer and communicating with various customers via telephone and video links.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Positive service-oriented attitude toward the firm, our employees, and the clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Manage and oversee the production of cost estimates.
• Review and evaluate requests for estimates.
• Review estimates and revisions to assure accuracy and coverage of the intended scope of work.
• Facilitate and run Cost & Schedule Risk Analysis Studies.
• Prepare Economic Analyses utilizing Econpack software.
• Prepares cost analysis by accurately estimating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs.
• Ability to create an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not available.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
• Attend departmental meetings as required.

LOCATION: Honolulu, HI

SALARY RANGE: $90,000-$110,000 per year depending on experience
