Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Warehouse Operations Clerk to manage critical shipping documentation, driver dispatch, and system transactions. In this role, you will serve as the operational bridge between inbound/outbound carriers, warehouse leadership, and floor operations to ensure freight moves accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping Documentation & System Administration

  • Generate, verify, and close outbound shipments and prepare accurate Bills of Lading (BOL) using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Maintain strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all shipping records, seal logs, and digital load boards.
  • Audit and file all outbound shipping paperwork for compliance, tracking, and quick retrieval.
  • Investigate and assist in resolving shipping discrepancies and inventory variances.

Carrier & Yard Coordination

  • Communicate daily via email and phone with outbound freight carriers regarding schedules, trailer capacity, and equipment requirements.
  • Greet incoming drivers, verify credentials, assign loading doors, and release drivers with accurate paperwork.
  • Partner closely with yard spotters to coordinate trailer moves and maximize yard/dock door efficiency.
  • Communicate operational updates, dock assignments, and priorities across warehouse teams.

Operational & Floor Support

  • Assist with hands-on material handling duties as needed, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, and loading.
  • Assist site leadership with administrative reports and ad-hoc operational tasks.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry accuracy.
  • Solid communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and exercise sound judgment in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexibility to work mandatory overtime and weekend shifts based on business needs.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with Tier-1 Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Bilingual capabilities (English / Spanish).
  • Prior experience operating Material Handling Equipment (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck) or willingness to be trained and certified.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand and walk continuously across a large distribution facility (over a quarter-mile long) for 10–12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry totes/packages up to 50 lbs independently (up to 100 lbs with team lift assistance).
  • Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, reaching above the head, and working at ground level.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic warehouse environment subject to fluctuating temperatures, seasonal conditions, and moderate-to-high noise levels.
