Machine Operator Trainee – Metallizing (3rd shift shift)

• Location: San Diego, CA 92123
• Work Schedule: Sunday to Thursday / 10:30 pm to 7 am
• Pay rate: 23$/h per hour + $1.50 shift premium
• Contract: W2 under staffing supplier; Temp-to-Hire based on performance, attendance, and reliability after 3-6 months; overtime as needed.
• Equipment: All necessary PPE provided by the company (safety shoes, high-vis vest, safety glasses).

Position Summary: Assist in setting up, operating, and monitoring metallizing machinery to produce high-quality film products efficiently while adhering to all safety guidelines.

Essential Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required (College or Military background preferred).
• Experience: Manufacturing background required and prior forklift operation experience strongly preferred.
• Skills: Good mechanical aptitude, logical troubleshooting ability, basic math and computer skills, and high attention to detail.
• Communication: Clear written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Assist with machine set-up, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance/repairs; adhere strictly to SOPs and safety protocols.
• Quality & Documentation: Inspect raw and metallized film for quality; accurately complete roll tickets, run logs, maintenance logs, and sample sheets.
• Material Handling: Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to safely move product around the facility.
• Communication & Maintenance: Log preventive maintenance, report safety hazards immediately, and maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding parts and production needs.
