Content Editing Associate
Location: Hybrid - Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: 30 hours per week; onsite two days per week, with flexible onsite days
Experience level: Entry-level
About the role
The Content Editing Associate helps maintain and grow the MEMP portfolio of medical reference products. In this role, you’ll support existing products, help Acquisitions and Development Editors research and develop new products, and contribute to consistent processes across teams.
You’ll work with colleagues in content development, marketing, sales, product management, and market research, as well as with authors, subject-matter experts, and vendors. It’s an opportunity to learn about medical education and practice publishing - and how medical reference businesses are evolving to serve faculty, students, residents, physicians, and institutional customers.
The right person is organized, curious, analytical, and comfortable adapting when priorities or deadlines change. You’ll listen closely, spot recurring challenges, and help the team find practical solutions.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate project schedules, track deliverables, arrange cross-functional meetings, and share status updates through meeting notes and Confluence.
- Process contracts, coordinate signatures, and set up product records in internal systems in partnership with the royalty team.
- Coordinate author, subject-matter expert, and vendor setup in the payment portal.
- Process invoices and follow up with contractors and Accounts Payable to help ensure timely payment.
- Track spending against budget line items using spreadsheets and in coordination with the team.
- Collaborate with fellow coordinators to create, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), and support their adoption.
- Create and maintain product records, including key product identifiers, pricing, contracts, and availability across sales channels.
- Maintain tracking spreadsheets and coordinate assessment reviews and updates with outside vendors.
- Participate in editorial meetings, coordinate group schedules, and follow up on action items.
- Support research initiatives and annual priorities, including surveys, interviews, participant communications, honoraria, research notes, and results analysis.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Understanding of general project management practices, tasks, and tools.
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with formulas, functions, and pivot tables is preferred.
- Analytical skills and the ability to make sound, data-informed decisions.
- Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the judgment to choose an appropriate message, method, and timing.
- Attention to detail, integrity, and a commitment to accurate, high-quality work.
- The ability to work independently, ask questions when needed, take ownership of commitments, and respond constructively to feedback.
- A collaborative, proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Interest in medical education and medical practice publishing is highly preferred.
