- Negotiate contract terms directly with counterparties through written redlines and live discussions or calls.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage other agreements as needed, such as confidentiality, consulting, service, materials transfer, research, and vendor services agreements.
- Identify contract and relationship risks, communicate them to internal stakeholders, and support resolution.
- Work with internal business partners to address legal and business questions.
- Track contract status and support the review, approval, and signature process.
- Provide support to in-house attorneys and handle other related tasks as assigned.
- Follow company policies and standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 2–3 years of in-house contract drafting and negotiation experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, clinical research, or a related environment.
- Hands-on experience drafting, redlining, and negotiating CSAs, CTAs, or comparable clinical-study agreements.
- Direct counterparty negotiation experience, including negotiating contract language through redlines and discussing terms in live calls or meetings.
- Experience using a contract lifecycle management (CLM) or contract management system.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple agreements and meet deadlines while working with a range of internal teams.
Preferred
- Five or more years of relevant contract experience.
- Broader experience supporting R&D contracting.
- Experience negotiating vendor agreements and working with external service providers.
- Familiarity with the drug discovery and development process.
- Experience with Agiloft; training can be provided.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
