Maintenance Assistant (Student Position)

**Summary:**Responsible for supporting the department with administrative and/or project-based tasks while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Position Details: Student Position

Supervisory Responsability: No

Work Schedule: Not to exceed 30 hours/week when school is in session. International students schedules not to exceed 20 hours/week when school is in session.

Supervised By: Manager/Building Maintenance

**Application Requirements:**Union application

Pay Rate: \$10.15/hour

Key Functions:

• Assist in repairing equipment and structural items in and around the Union building.
• Assist in troubleshooting leaks, stoppages, and inadequate supply or faulty operations of water, steam, gas, and airlines. Make appropriate repairs to help prevent future occurrences.
• Maintain a safe environment in the shop by cleaning and maintaining area.
• Assist cleaning the plaza, painting, staining, varnishing, fixing light fixtures, and emergency lights\ testing.
