About Just Right Reader

Just Right Reader is a literacy publisher dedicated to helping children become confident, successful readers through engaging, research-based resources grounded in the Science of Reading. Our growing product line includes decodable and knowledge-building books, classroom resources, teacher guides, lesson plans, literacy games, family resources, and marketing materials designed for students from Birth through Grade 12.

Position Overview:

We're supporting our Chief Academic Officer in finding a seasoned, resourceful, and highly self-directed Executive Assistant. This is a full-time remote role for someone who thrives on quietly keeping things in motion - behind the scenes - so the CAO can focus on leading our technical teams and building out our automation strategy.

  • Think of this as being the wizard behind the curtain: you'll manage the administrative world for our CAO with a high degree of autonomy. You'll coordinate closely with other Executive Assistants at Just Right Reader to handle business-facing priorities, but your main focus will be on removing things from the CAO's plate.
  • This means: serving as a gatekeeper and point of contact for a wide range of people - from cross-functional teams to outside vendors; handling logistics, owning the CAO's schedule, managing the CAO's inbox, prepping the CAO for upcoming meetings, understanding how to lean in as a true partner, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist with various projects and initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, screening and directing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Executive Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the CAO, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel.
  • Documentation: Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Meeting Management: Organize and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, recording minutes, and following up on action items.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Executive Liaison: Act as a liaison between the CAO and other members of the leadership team, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Prioritization: Manage competing priorities effectively, proactively identifying and addressing potential conflicts or obstacles.
  • Remote Operations: Embrace and utilize remote work tools and technologies to optimize productivity and collaboration within a fully remote work environment.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Provide additional administrative support and perform other duties as assigned by the CAO.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in K-12 education (educator, instructional coach, admin role, or district role) is required.
  • Science of Reading Knowledge applied in PreK-5th grade is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting C-level executives in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal errors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with tact, integrity, and discretion.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a remote work environment.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to pitch in and support colleagues as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively address challenges.å

Why Join Us:

At Just Right Reader, we're transforming how children learn to read. You'll be part of a passionate, growing team committed to educational equity, literacy innovation, and joyful learning.

  • Mission-driven company focused on improving literacy and education outcomes.
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment with opportunities for growth and development.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
