Assistant Garden Center Manager

J.W. Jung Seed Company is a family-owned and operated mail-order and retail company that ships quality seeds, plants, and gardening accessories to all 50 states. Jung Seed Company owns six garden centers in the state of Wisconsin with our corporate headquarters located in Randolph, WI.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist the Garden Center Manager in planning, ordering, and displaying plants and other products
• Assist with training new employees
• Assist with maintaining product quality through watering, trimming, and fertilizing.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and visually appealing environment - both indoors and outdoors
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the entire buying experience
• Assist with customer service issues when necessary
• Assist with unloading merchandise from trucks

What We’re Looking For:

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
• Experience with POS systems, inventory control, purchasing, and database management
• Knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, soils, insecticides, and disease-related topics preferred
• Previous supervising or management experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends
• Team player with a positive, hands-on attitude
