Original job description

Description Help bring meaningful experiences to life At our organization, we believe in the power of connection and belonging. For almost 25 years, we have created welcoming, open-door experiences where people feel part of something meaningful. We’re looking for an Operations Manager who loves turning ideas into action, bringing people together, and who takes pride in making things work beautifully behind the scenes. You’ll help create experiences that make our community feel connected and welcome.

Why join our team? We’re a small, collaborative nonprofit where relationships matter, ideas are heard, and your work has visible impact. You’ll have meaningful ownership and work alongside colleagues committed to our mission. Working closely with our Director of Operations and Development, you’ll also build broader organizational knowledge and leadership skills as we evolve.

What You'll do You will own the planning, coordination, and follow-through that turn good ideas into well-run programs.

Bring programs and events to life · Manage schedules, venues, vendors, budgets, supplies, and logistics for programs and events. · Lead weekly project and program coordination meetings; keep calendars, details, and handoffs on track. · Be the lead staff contact for assigned evening and weekend programs.

Support our volunteer community · Recruit, schedule, and communicate with volunteers, especially during our busy fall season. · Keep volunteer information accurate in CRM (CharityEngine).

Keep people connected · Coordinate timely program details with our communications consultant and review outgoing materials for accuracy. · Partner with the Programs and Learning Manager to keep programs, people, and systems aligned.

Strengthen how we work · Manage event registrations and reporting in CRM (CharityEngine). · Spot opportunities to simplify processes and improve teamwork. · Serve as the day-to-day operational backup to the Director of Operations and Development, with opportunities to take on broader responsibilities over time.

What'll make you successful Above all, we’re looking for exceptional project management and communication skills, paired with initiative, sound judgment, and a collaborative spirit. · You turn ideas into action. You plan, prioritize, anticipate challenges, and reliably finish what you start. · You bring people together. You communicate with clarity and warmth, and you build trust by listening well. · You make good things work even better. You see opportunities to improve systems and solve problems. · You take ownership. You use good judgment, show initiative, and follow through. · You lead with care and purpose. You value inclusion and community impact, and you’re curious about how organizations work.

Work, pay, and benefits This is a full-time Denver-based role with regular evening and weekend commitments because that’s when many community programs take place. Fall is our busiest season. Occasional lifting or moving of 25–50 pounds is part of the role, with reasonable accommodation as applicable. Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually. Benefits: Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance; employer-paid life insurance (up to $15,000 coverage); a 403(b)-retirement plan with a 1.5% employer match after a six-month vesting period; unlimited PTO and personal time (includes sick leave); and paid national and select community holidays.

Come make a difference with us If you enjoy creating order out of complexity and connecting with people, we’d love to hear from you. This is your moment to make a meaningful difference in our organization and the lives of our constituents. Submit your resume and answers to our short application questions.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and identities and encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every preferred qualification.

Requirements

Experience and Skills You bring at least three years of experience in project management, programs, events, or operations; demonstrated success managing competing priorities; excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and problem-solving skills; and comfort with Microsoft Office and new technology. Experience with volunteers, nonprofits, community programs, or a CRM such as CharityEngine is a plus.
