Quality Program Manager - Construction

Location: Columbus, OH (JSET Headquarters) Work Arrangement: Full-Time, Hybrid (office, project sites, and travel) Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 per year Travel: Up to 20% Company: JSET Automated Technologies

Build Our Quality Program - and the People Behind It

JSET Automated Technologies is building its first dedicated quality program, and we’re looking for the person to lead it. As our QA/QC Program Manager, you’ll shape how quality is built into our construction, controls, and commissioning work on mission-critical and data center projects.

This isn’t a “quality police” role. We’re looking for a builder, educator, and coach - someone who naturally asks “Why does this keep happening, and how do we prevent it next time?” You’ll turn lessons learned into repeatable processes, help our teams understand why requirements matter (not just what they are), and build quality into the work instead of inspecting for it at the end.

About JSET Automated Technologies

JSET Automated Technologies specializes in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), industrial controls, and mission-critical infrastructure projects throughout North America.

Our customers rely on us to deliver highly complex systems that meet demanding performance, reliability, and commissioning requirements. As we continue to grow, we are investing in practical quality systems, processes, and training to ensure every project is executed to the highest standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and own JSET’s quality program - practical standards, procedures, quality gates, forms, and documentation that project teams will actually use
  • Train, mentor, and coach employees through onboarding, role-based training, and hands-on guidance in the field
  • Partner with Project Management, Construction, Controls, and Commissioning teams to build quality into planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover
  • Conduct quality audits and readiness reviews, and verify that required documentation is being completed
  • Track deficiencies and nonconformances, facilitate root-cause analysis and corrective action, and confirm fixes are effective
  • Analyze quality data and trends, identify recurring issues, and propose practical solutions
  • Report quality metrics, risks, and improvement progress to leadership
  • Spend time on our job sites (at least weekly) to see issues firsthand and build strong relationships with field teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience leading or improving quality processes or quality management systems in construction, industrial manufacturing, controls, mission-critical, or a similar technical environment
  • A track record of training, mentoring, or coaching others - teaching classes, leading toolbox talks, rolling out new procedures, or developing field employees
  • Hands-on experience with root-cause analysis, corrective action, audits, or other structured improvement work
  • Comfort working in both the office and on active job sites, with the credibility to connect with field teams
  • The patience and diplomacy to deliver tough feedback constructively and influence people without relying on authority
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related field - or an equivalent combination of education and experience (approximately 5+ years of relevant experience)

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Mission-critical or data center construction experience
  • Exposure to BAS/BMS, EPMS, controls integration, startup, or commissioning
  • Familiarity with the NEC and electrical, low-voltage, communications, or HVAC controls scopes (CSI Divisions 23, 25, 26, and 27)
  • Quality certifications such as ASQ (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE), ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Lean, or Six Sigma
  • Experience with Procore or comparable construction or quality-management platforms
  • Supplier or subcontractor quality management experience

We don’t expect you to check every box. If you bring strong quality leadership, a knack for teaching, and the aptitude to learn our technical environment, we’ll help you with the rest - including JSET’s systems, the code requirements that apply to our work, and our processes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary of $160,000 – $180,000
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays
  • Company-Paid Life Insurance
  • Professional Development Opportunities
  • Career Growth Within a Rapidly Expanding Organization
  • High-Visibility Leadership Role with Company-Wide Impact

Why Join JSET?

This is a rare opportunity to build a quality program from the ground up and to shape how quality is understood, taught, and practiced across a growing organization supporting some of the most advanced controls, automation, and mission-critical infrastructure projects in the industry.

If you enjoy solving problems at the root, teaching others, and turning lessons learned into better ways of working, we’d love to hear from you.

Work Environment

  • Primarily based in Columbus, OH, with regular time in the office (especially early on), on project sites, and traveling
  • Up to 20% travel to project sites, customer locations, and supplier facilities, depending on project needs
  • This is not a remote position; some situational work-from-home flexibility is available
  • Project-site work requires appropriate PPE, compliance with site-safety requirements, walking active construction areas, standing for extended periods, and navigating stairs
  • Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable qualified individuals to perform essential job functions

As a condition of employment, all employees must complete a background and drug screening
