  • Drives adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, incident/root-cause analysis), while establishing measurable validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale.
  • Drives the adoption of domain-driven design principles and decisions that influence product design, application functionality and technical operations, ensuring the architecture supports the trading platform's multi-asset capabilities (equities, fixed income, mutual funds).
  • Oversees and contributes to technical documentation, including service APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI, ensuring robust logging, auditability, security and monitoring.
  • Leads API design sessions and guides the selection of design patterns for the team, while contributing directly to the design process.
  • Leads code review sessions and provides sign-off, ensuring high maintainability through TDD/BDD and demonstrating service scalability using mock testing frameworks, simulation and automated regression.

  • Deep knowledge and expertise in Java programming, with a willingness to engage in hands-on coding.
  • Proven track record building distributed architecture systems, especially those involving large data volumes and real-time distribution.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps toolchains and a test-driven approach to agile delivery, with hands-on experience in these areas.
  • Experience with middle-tier data caching solutions (e.g., Redis, elastic, Apache Ignite) and messaging-based solutions (e.g., Kafka, IBM MQ).
  • Knowledge of modern architectures based on microservices, REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL stores and event-based architecture, with practical cloud-native experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Proven ability to mentor, groom and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

  • Experience in trading systems across the order lifecycle (order, execution, allocation, booking), including knowledge of Order Management Systems (OMS) and Execution Management Systems (EMS); familiarity with the FIX protocol and engines such as QuickFIX/J is an added advantage
  • FINRA certification (e.g., Series 57 or 24) is an added advantage.
  • Ability to solve complex and mission-critical problems, both internally and externally, with a hands-on approach.
