Be an integral part of an agile team that is constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products. If you are passionate about solving complex technical challenges, influencing product direction, and helping teams work smarter through modern engineering practices, this role offers the scope, visibility, and growth opportunity you are looking for. As a Sr Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within Trust and Security, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, applying deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications. You will serve as a subject matter expert, influence product and architecture decisions, and actively champion engineering excellence across the team. Job responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its engineering teams, contractors, and vendors across complex, multi-technology initiatives
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and conduct rigorous reviews and debugging of code written by others
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved artificial intelligence-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes - including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident root-cause analysis
  • Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reuse of proven patterns and automation within the software development lifecycle toolchain
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the software development lifecycle toolchain, including approved artificial intelligence-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale
  • Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus, providing mentorship and technical leadership to engineers across the team
  • Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices across the software development lifecycle

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability across large-scale environments
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized artificial intelligence-assisted software development tools, including the ability to set team expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Strong understanding of responsible artificial intelligence use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
  • Experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant artificial intelligence usage patterns and controls within the software development lifecycle
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Practical cloud-native experience delivering production workloads at scale

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience working within security or trust platform domains, including identity, access management, or cryptographic services
  • Familiarity with zero-trust architecture principles and their application in enterprise engineering environments
  • Experience contributing to or leading firmwide engineering standards, frameworks, or communities of practice
  • Exposure to regulated industry environments with strong controls, audit requirements, and compliance-driven engineering practices
  • Experience with observability tooling, platform reliability engineering, or site reliability practices in distributed systems
