Position Overview The Operations Optimization Analyst, OSC drives the performance and continuous improvement of automated storage and picking operations across North America. This role is responsible for optimizing High-Bay, Detail Pick, and Layer Pick solutions, standardizing inventory management strategies, and ensuring systems remain efficient, scalable, and aligned with operational demands. The position also supports the development, testing, and implementation of AI-driven solutions, leveraging data and operational expertise to improve performance, standardize processes, and support successful solution adoption across sites. Roles and Responsibilities
- Automated Picking & High-Bay Optimization o Analyze High-Bay, Detail Pick, and Layer Pick system performance to identify operational constraints, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities. o Evaluate storage utilization, inventory flow, replenishment activity, and picking behaviors to improve automated system performance and throughput. o Identify trends contributing to congestion, inventory reshuffling, suboptimal inventory placement, and reduced picking efficiency. o Partner with site operations teams to investigate performance issues and implement data-driven solutions that improve inventory flow and overall high-bay health.
- Data Analysis & Operational Performance o Partner with WMS and IT teams to establish standardized North American processes for putaway, allocation, and reshuffle profiles while accommodating justified site-specific requirements. o Analyze SKU velocity, inventory characteristics, storage utilization, order patterns, and operational demand to optimize system configurations and inventory strategies. o Develop performance metrics, monitoring tools, and analytical methods to proactively identify operational issues and drive continuous improvement. o Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Detailed Work Instructions (DWIs), and best practices to support consistent execution across sites.
- AI & Project Support o Support automation and AI-related projects through requirements gathering, solution testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and post-go-live stabilization activities. o Evaluate current-state operations and define future-state requirements to support the successful implementation of AI-driven and automated solutions. o Design initial pick floor layouts using customer order data and wave planning strategies to optimize inventory placement and Layer Pick-to-Manual Pick floor allocation. o Develop and execute testing and validation plans, analyze results, provide recommendations, and support the transition of successful solutions into sustainable day-to-day operations.
Requirements
