Job Description

Role Overview & Core Responsibilities

  • Fabric & Topology Design: Architect and validate spine-leaf, Clos, and VXLAN/EVPN overlay fabrics to handle massive east-west traffic.
  • Switch & Hardware Evaluation: Lead build-vs-buy assessments, merchant silicon vs. custom ASIC analysis, and vendor selection for core and top-of-rack (ToR) switches.
  • Network Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive zero-touch provisioning (ZTP), telemetry, and configuration management using Python, Ansible, or NDFC.
  • High Availability & Reliability: Design redundant routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EVPN) to meet strict service-level agreements (SLAs) and Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) goals.
  • Security & Zero Trust Integration: Implement micro-segmentation, ACLs, and enterprise firewall architectures aligned with zero-trust models.
  • Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting: Conduct deep-packet analysis, buffer tuning, congestion control, and root-cause analysis for complex network incidents.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Technical Skills:
  • Deep expertise in L2/L3 networking protocols (BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, OSPF, IPv6).
  • Proficiency in network operating systems (SONiC, Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, or Cumulus).
  • Scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or shell scripting, plus container/Linux environments.
  • Experience: 5+ to 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise or hyperscale data center networking, switch architecture, or platform engineering.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
