Job Title: Associate Director, Salesforce Solutions
Department: I.T.
Reports To: Chief Information Officer
FLSA: Exempt
Status: Full-Time
Salary: $175,000 - $240,000
ABOUT CONTRACT SERVICES:
In the mid-1960s, the major film studios, in negotiations with Hollywood’s unions, founded the non-profit Contract Services Administration Trust Fund (CSATF) and later added Contract Services Administration Training Trust Fund (CSATTF), now collectively referred to as Contract Services (CS). CS carries out an extensive list of contractual, legal, and regulatory obligations that must be implemented on behalf of the studios, especially with respect to certain requirements of the collective bargaining agreements that apply to a freelance union workforce of more than 50,000 production workers in the greater Los Angeles area. These services include administering seniority rosters, operating safety training, and apprenticeship programs, administering a drug and alcohol testing program that applies to commercial drivers working in the motion picture industry, and implementing many other industry-wide services, studies, and/or education on behalf of the motion picture production industry.
More information about CS can be found at https://www.csatf.org.
JOB SUMMARY:
Contract Services seeks an experienced and strategic Associate Director of Salesforce Solutions to lead our Salesforce team that supports it. Salesforce is becoming the core platform for how our organization serves its clients, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the vision, roadmap, delivery, and ongoing health of that platform. This role will ensure that the platform is scalable, secure, well-governed, and aligned with the goals of the business. To be successful in this role you need to be both a people leader and a trusted technical advisor. You will partner closely with business stakeholders and IT leadership to translate organizational priorities into a clear Salesforce strategy, and you will build a team culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As we continue migrating off legacy systems, you will guide key decisions on architecture, data, and integrations, and ensure that each release delivers measurable value to our users.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will partner with a team consisting of a Salesforce Solution Owner, Salesforce Technical Architect, and Salesforce System Administrators.
- Own the Salesforce platform strategy and multi-year roadmap in partnership with business stakeholders and IT leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee the intake, prioritization, and delivery of enhancements and new functionality, managing the Salesforce backlog within an Agile framework.
- Partner with the Technical Architect to define solution architecture, data model, and integration standards that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Lead the continued migration of business processes and data from legacy systems onto the Salesforce platform, in coordination with the Data team.
- Establish and enforce platform governance, including release management, change control, sandbox strategy, testing standards, and code and configuration review.
- Oversee platform administration, including the security model, user access, profiles and permission sets, data quality, and system health monitoring.
- Oversee integrations between Salesforce and internal and external systems, including APIs, middleware, and AWS services.
- Provide guidance on Salesforce licensing, contract renewals, implementation partners, and the platform budget.
- Evaluate Salesforce seasonal releases and new platform capabilities, assessing their impact and recommending opportunities for adoption.
- Define and report on key metrics such as user adoption, delivery performance, and platform stability to IT leadership and business stakeholders.
- Undertake special assignments and projects as directed by the Chief Information Officer.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
Core Skills:
- Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing technical teams, including architects, administrators, and product or solution owners.
- Deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, the Salesforce data model, and the security and sharing model.
- Strong understanding of declarative (Flow) and programmatic (Apex, Lightning Web Components) development, with the ability to guide technical design decisions.
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps and release management practices and tools (e.g., Gearset, Git).
- Experience with data migration and integration patterns, including REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and ETL processes.
- Experience owning a product roadmap and managing a backlog in an Agile environment.
- Ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions and to communicate clearly with both executive and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with vendor management, budgeting, and Salesforce license management.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Comfortability working with Microsoft and Atlassian product suite.
- Establish and maintain documentation of platform standards, designs, processes, and procedures.
Skill Pluses:
- Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Platform App Builder, Application or System Architect, or Strategy Designer.
- Experience with MuleSoft, CRM Analytics/Tableau, or PowerBI.
- Experience with AWS services such as AWS Redshift, AWS AppFlow, and AWS Glue.
- Experience leading a large-scale legacy-to-Salesforce transformation.
- Familiarity with the TV/Movie production industry.
Personality:
- Positive mental attitude, strong work ethic, self-motivated, and highly organized.
- A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable in the details.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity and balance multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Ability to build trust and influence decisions across all levels of the organization.
Engagement:
- Active participant in company culture.
- A desire to teach, learn and grow with the department and company, and to invest in the growth of your team.
- Willingness to understand our business and how we can best serve our clients.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
