From bold ideas to everyday support, we help create a fun atmosphere, great food and drinks, and the kind of hospitality that keeps everyone coming back. Here, you’ll discover opportunities for career growth, belonging, wellbeing, and plenty of chances to work hard and have fun.

Brinker International is an equal opportunity employer. We’re proud to provide a welcoming, respectful environment where everyone can thrive.

Job Summary Brinker is seeking a Solutions Architect, eCommerce to shape the technical direction of Brinker’s multi-brand Digital Guest Experience (DGE) platform, including Chilis.com and Maggianos.com. The Solutions Architect serves as a trusted technical partner to engineering and business teams, helping assess feasibility and evaluate solution options that enable a seamless digital guest experience and support revenue growth.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for an architect who wants to stay close to the technology. You’ll design solutions, contribute code, review development work, establish engineering standards, and help bring solutions from concept through production.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead solution design: Own end-to-end architecture across web, mobile, backend services, cloud, data, and third-party integrations, advancing API-first design and OpenAPI standards.
  • Shape technical direction: Shape technical direction: Partner with engineering and business stakeholders on multi-year technical roadmaps, evaluating solution options, build-vs-buy decisions, development estimates, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs to support delivery commitments.
  • Stay hands-on: Contribute production-quality code, build prototypes and reference implementations, conduct code and design reviews, and tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Care for the platforms: Establish patterns and recommend investments that improve performance, security, reliability, scalability, maintainability, observability, and reduce technical debt.
  • Ensure compliance: Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Compliance to align DGE solutions with enterprise standards and controls.
  • Drive architecture best practices: Maintain solution designs, architecture diagrams, technical standards, reusable patterns, and other architecture principles that enable teams to effectively operate and evolve the platform.
  • Coach through the work: Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, technical feedback, pairing, and hands-on problem solving.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including experience in an architecture or technical leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience designing, writing, reviewing, and shipping production code, and a desire to remain actively engaged in engineering delivery.
  • Full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, React, and Next.js.
  • Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and modern front-end performance optimization.
  • Experience with DevOps and software delivery practices, including CI/CD tooling, Docker, automated testing, and controlled production deployments.
  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering and agentic development practices, including AI coding tools, specification-driven development, and building semi-autonomous agents.
  • Ability to quickly learn new platforms and technologies, apply new knowledge to solve problems, and continuously evolve technical skills as the platform and business needs change. Preferred experience includes architecting, delivering, and monitoring cloud-native applications with platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, and observability tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or CloudWatch.
  • Understand API-first distributed architectures, including REST APIs, authentication, caching, integration patterns, and modern service-based architecture.
  • Ability to take a complex technical problem, develop a clear architectural point of view, evaluate tradeoffs, and bring other engineers along with you.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain architecture, tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies to both technical and business stakeholders.

Why Brinker At Brinker, we believe life is short, so work happy! That means creating an environment where you can grow your career, feel a sense of belonging and wellbeing, and have fun along the way.

Here’s how we make that real for our BrinkerHeads at the RSC:
