As a BAS Controls Technician, you’ll install, configure, commission, and troubleshoot building automation systems in commercial facilities. Working with a team leader and field teams, you’ll integrate controllers and third-party devices, program and test systems, and help ensure the building’s controls work as designed. You’ll also guide less-experienced technicians, communicate system performance and recommendations to customers, and support a smooth handoff to the service team. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours on-call rotation.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, program, and commission building automation systems, controllers, and integrated devices. • Troubleshoot controls, networks, communication protocols, wiring, and system performance. • Configure operator workstations, including graphics, alarms, trends, and historical data. • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, contractors, and customers to resolve issues and support quality installations. • Complete commissioning and as-built documentation, train system operators, and assist with turnover to service. • Perform preventive maintenance and identify opportunities to improve customers’ systems.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience with HVAC controls database integration and subsystem work; Niagara certification preferred. • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, including boilers, chillers, rooftop units, air handlers, and VAV systems. • Ability to configure and commission controls to a design, and to troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus, and Lon communications. • Familiarity with control circuitry, wiring diagrams, inputs and outputs, networks, and end devices.
