Original job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Test Engineer II based in the United States.

As a Test Engineer II, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise Pega applications supporting critical business processes. You will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies across functional, integration, regression, performance, and accessibility testing. Working within an Agile delivery environment, you will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to validate application functionality and ensure alignment with technical and business requirements. You will leverage modern testing frameworks and automation tools to identify defects, improve test coverage, and optimize software quality. The role also involves API validation, accessibility compliance, and end-to-end workflow testing. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented testing professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and contributing to high-quality software delivery.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases covering functional, integration, regression, performance, smoke, and Section 508 accessibility testing.
  • Perform regression testing using SOAP UI, including the validation of Pega WSDLs, web services, and API integrations.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of Pega applications to verify that functionality meets business, technical, and operational requirements.
  • Validate workflows and business processes implemented within Pega to ensure accurate and consistent application behavior.
  • Translate business requirements, technical specifications, and user stories into detailed test scenarios, test plans, and test cases.
  • Execute both manual and automated tests, documenting results and capturing supporting evidence to ensure traceability and quality assurance.
  • Perform accessibility testing using JAWS and other relevant tools to validate compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Conduct API and web services testing to verify integration functionality, data accuracy, and system reliability.
  • Identify, document, track, and report software defects, collaborating with development teams during defect triage and resolution.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, helping stakeholders validate application functionality and business requirements.
  • Apply standardized testing methodologies, tools, and procedures to ensure comprehensive test coverage and consistent quality standards.
  • Manage multiple testing assignments and competing priorities while meeting project deadlines and delivery milestones.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and Program Increment (PI) planning within a SAFe Agile environment.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and technical issues to relevant stakeholders, escalating problems through established project management channels.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional software testing experience, including test planning, test case design, testing methodologies, test automation, and/or infrastructure development.
  • Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, and smoke testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Subject7, Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar technologies.
  • Proven experience in API testing and web services validation using tools such as SOAP UI, Insomnia, or Postman.
  • Experience testing Pega applications, including workflows, integrations, and business process functionality.
  • Strong understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements and practical experience conducting accessibility testing using tools such as JAWS.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write and execute complex queries for data validation and testing purposes.
  • At least 4 years of experience using test management and collaboration tools, such as Confluence, Jira, HP ALM, or Azure DevOps.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a SAFe Agile environment, including participation in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and Program Increment (PI) planning.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail and the capacity to manage overlapping assignments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Certified Tester – Advanced Level (TTA, TA, and/or TM) certification is desirable.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to obtain access to sensitive information.

Preferred experience:

  • Familiarity with CMS Marketplace eligibility and appeals processing.
  • Experience with case management applications and complex business workflows.
  • Previous exposure to contact center operations and related technology environments.

Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Fully remote working arrangement, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States.
  • Full-time employment opportunity supporting important enterprise application and software quality initiatives.
  • Opportunity to work with modern testing frameworks, automation technologies, and enterprise Pega applications.
  • Exposure to Agile and SAFe delivery methodologies and large-scale software testing environments.
  • Opportunities to strengthen expertise in test automation, API testing, accessibility compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborative environment involving cross-functional technical and business teams.
