- Identify and engage potential clients, develop strategic relationships, and position cybersecurity services to address their specific business and technical needs.
- Lead technical discovery calls to understand clients' IT environments, attack surfaces, security priorities, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
- Scope a broad range of cybersecurity engagements, including network, web application, API, cloud, mobile, red team, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), and social engineering assessments.
- Estimate project effort, define engagement parameters and rules of engagement, and clearly document assumptions, exclusions, and deliverables to ensure accurate project planning and profitability.
- Prepare compelling commercial proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs), collaborating with business development leadership on pricing strategies and engagement structures.
- Manage and expand existing client accounts by identifying opportunities for annual retesting, additional security assessments, follow-on projects, and ongoing service retainers.
- Translate technical methodologies, testing approaches, tools, and security findings into clear business value for both technical stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
- Collaborate with internal teams across Technical Services, Risk and Advisory Services, and Project Management to ensure smooth project delivery and a positive client experience.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline information, account records, and revenue forecasts within the CRM system.
- Monitor client feedback and evolving security needs to identify opportunities for account development and long-term partnerships.
- Adapt quickly to changing business priorities while maintaining responsiveness, ownership, and a proactive approach to client acquisition and support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of hands-on offensive security experience, particularly in penetration testing, application security testing, or red teaming, gained within a cybersecurity consultancy or internal security team.
- At least 2 years of experience in quota-carrying sales, sales engineering, or pre-sales roles focused on cybersecurity products or services.
- Strong technical understanding of penetration testing methodologies and the ability to accurately scope security engagements based on client environments and requirements.
- Ability to explain technical security concepts, testing methodologies, tools, and findings to diverse audiences, from technical specialists to senior executives.
- Previous experience preparing commercial proposals and Statements of Work, including defining project scope, deliverables, assumptions, and exclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the full sales cycle, develop new business opportunities, and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills, combined with analytical thinking and the ability to balance technical accuracy with business objectives.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain responsive in a fully remote environment.
- A proactive mindset, strong initiative, and a sense of urgency when pursuing opportunities and supporting clients.
- Offensive security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, or CRTO are preferred.
- Previous experience selling cybersecurity services within a boutique or mid-sized consultancy is an advantage.
- An established professional network of cybersecurity buyers and decision-makers within relevant industries is preferred.
