As a key leader within the Finance organization, the Sr. Manager, Accounting will oversee corporate accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. You will provide technical accounting expertise while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to support financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis. The position offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence through process improvements, system enhancements, and standardized accounting procedures. You will also lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is an impactful leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys combining strategic oversight with hands-on financial expertise.

Accountabilities

• Lead the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet tie-outs, and intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

• Manage close activities, workflows, and approvals using accounting systems, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies or delays.

• Oversee financial reporting and consolidation processes, ensuring consistency between reporting systems and the general ledger.

• Analyze actual-to-budget and forecast variances, providing meaningful insights to support management reviews and financial decision-making.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit timelines, documentation, supporting schedules, and stakeholder responses.

• Monitor audit requests and outstanding items, collaborating with Accounting, Tax, regional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

• Proactively identify potential audit findings, accounting risks, and control deficiencies, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Partner with Internal Controls to maintain risk and control documentation, support testing activities, and strengthen the overall control environment.

• Provide technical accounting guidance and lead remediation efforts related to control deficiencies and segregation-of-duties concerns.

• Lead, coach, and develop Staff and Senior Accountants through performance feedback, clear priorities, and individual development plans.

• Establish standardized close procedures, cross-training initiatives, and team coverage plans while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties.

• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement culture while supporting workforce planning and recruitment.

• Collaborate with Cost Accounting, Regional Controllers, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and system teams on reporting, consolidation, analysis, and close activities.

• Contribute accounting expertise to system implementations, integrations, process optimization initiatives, and special projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA certification preferred; an MBA or other advanced degree is considered an advantage.

• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 or more years of experience managing or leading accounting teams.

• Demonstrated experience overseeing full-cycle accounting close processes and external audits; public accounting experience is strongly preferred.

• Experience in manufacturing or the building products industry is a plus.

• Familiarity with Oracle JDE is preferred; experience with FloQast, OneStream, Hubble, FAS, or LAS is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP, technical accounting principles, and accounting research methodologies.

• Proven leadership, coaching, mentoring, and talent-development capabilities.

• Excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including financial reconciliations, data analysis, and reporting.

Benefits:

• Competitive annual base salary: $135,000–$155,000, plus bonus opportunities.

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage starting on day one of employment.

• 401(k) retirement plan.

• Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.

• Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

• Life insurance and short-term and long-term disability coverage.

• Tuition reimbursement opportunities.

• Access to training, professional development, and career-growth initiatives.

• Compensation determined by location, relevant experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors.
