This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Field Service Team Manager based in the United States.

Take the lead in field service operations supporting the deployment and reliability of advanced autonomous commercial vehicles. In this senior management role, you will build and develop a high-performing team of Field Service Technicians while ensuring fleet availability, operational safety, and consistent technical execution. You will oversee vehicle maintenance, autonomous system installations, hardware validation, and retrofit campaigns across multiple North American locations. Working closely with fleet managers and hardware, software, and autonomous vehicle engineering teams, you will drive effective troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Your leadership will help strengthen maintenance standards, reduce vehicle downtime, and ensure reliable fleet operations at scale. This is an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of autonomous logistics in a collaborative, fast-moving technical environment.

Accountabilities:

• Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing team of Field Service Technicians, overseeing daily operations, performance management, technical skills development, and career growth.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety across field service operations.

• Establish a field liaison program and structured escalation framework connecting frontline technicians with central TechOps and engineering teams.

• Drive timely root-cause analysis of complex technical issues and ensure actionable field feedback reaches hardware, software, and autonomous vehicle integration teams.

• Partner with engineering teams to identify underperforming fleet assets and implement targeted maintenance strategies that maximize vehicle uptime and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR).

• Oversee vehicle upfits and End-of-Line (EOL) verification for computing systems, sensors, and other hardware components, ensuring vehicles meet operational requirements before deployment.

• Manage field vehicle campaigns and retrofit initiatives, establishing clear standard work instructions and consistent execution practices.

• Train and onboard external maintenance vendors to ensure alignment with technical procedures, quality expectations, and operational standards.

• Enforce safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and workplace cleanliness across field operations.

• Ensure compliance with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.

• Coordinate closely with local fleet managers and cross-functional TechOps teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain consistent service delivery.

• Travel to operational sites across North America to support field teams, vehicle maintenance activities, and deployment initiatives.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in technical field service, commercial fleet maintenance, automotive operations, or hardware technical operations.

• At least 2 years of direct people management experience, preferably leading technical teams of field technicians or diagnostic mechanics.

• Proven ability to recruit, mentor, manage, and develop technical personnel while maintaining high operational and safety standards.

• Demonstrated experience managing complex technical escalations and collaborating effectively with hardware and software engineering teams.

• Hands-on experience with vehicle upfits, sensor and hardware integration, End-of-Line verification, and technical campaigns or retrofit execution.

• Strong ability to create clear standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and step-by-step technical documentation.

• Deep familiarity with vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, CAN bus, telematics, and troubleshooting tools.

• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into practical maintenance improvements.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly when coordinating field technicians, engineering teams, fleet managers, and external vendors.

• Strong organizational and operational management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize multiple technical initiatives across geographically distributed locations.

• Commitment to workplace safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Benefits:

• Work arrangement: Remote within the United States.

• Travel: Required to operational sites throughout North America.

• Opportunity to lead and develop a technical field service team supporting autonomous commercial vehicle operations.

• Opportunity to work across vehicle hardware, software, diagnostics, and autonomous systems.

• The source job description does not specify salary, healthcare coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, bonus compensation, or other formal benefits.
