Original job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager based in the United States.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will take ownership of complex enterprise technology implementations, ensuring successful delivery from initial customer kickoff through deployment and post-launch support. You will lead cross-functional programs involving Product, Engineering, Data, Clinical, and customer IT teams, keeping projects aligned with committed timelines, scope, and business objectives. Combining strong technical expertise with exceptional program management skills, you will oversee integration architecture, manage delivery risks, and drive critical technical decisions. Acting as the primary point of contact for enterprise customers, you will build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and ensure transparent communication throughout implementation. You will also establish scalable delivery frameworks, improve implementation processes, and mentor the growing program management function. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare by helping bring innovative AI solutions into real-world clinical and administrative environments.

Accountabilities:

End-to-End Program Delivery: Own the complete lifecycle of enterprise customer implementations, from initial kickoff and planning through go-live and post-launch hypercare, ensuring delivery meets agreed timelines, scope, and customer expectations.
Integrated Program Planning: Develop and manage comprehensive implementation plans across Product, Engineering, Data, Clinical, and customer IT and operations teams. Maintain ownership of critical paths, milestones, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
Program Governance: Establish and manage effective operating routines, including weekly working sessions, executive steering committee meetings, and internal delivery reviews, ensuring discussions lead to clear decisions and actionable outcomes.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, monitor, and resolve project risks, dependencies, and blockers. Escalate critical issues early, providing recommended solutions and clear paths forward.
Go-Live Readiness: Lead deployment readiness activities, including cutover planning, rollback criteria, support handoffs, and go/no-go decisions to ensure successful and controlled implementations.
Executive Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear and comprehensive delivery plans, weekly status reports, risk assessments, retrospectives, and correction-of-error documentation suitable for senior executives and enterprise stakeholders.
Technical Integration Management: Oversee the technical architecture of customer implementations, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) connectivity, payer and clearinghouse data feeds, API integrations, and underlying data pipelines.
Technical Design & Engineering Coordination: Lead technical design discussions with customer IT teams and internal engineers, translating business and technical requirements into clearly defined, prioritized engineering deliverables.
Environment & Infrastructure Readiness: Coordinate technical environment preparation across customer and internal systems, including data access, security reviews, VPN and SFTP connectivity, API configuration, test data availability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Security & Regulatory Coordination: Partner with Security and Compliance teams to manage customer security questionnaires, HIPAA and SOC 2 reviews, and Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), ensuring compliance requirements are addressed without unnecessarily delaying implementation.
Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary program contact for enterprise customers throughout implementation, managing expectations, communicating progress, addressing concerns, and maintaining trust.
Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Present implementation progress and technical decisions to senior customer stakeholders, including Vice Presidents of Revenue Cycle, Chief Information Officers (CIOs), and Chief Medical Officers (CMOs).
Change Management & Adoption: Coordinate customer-side operational changes, including workflow redesign, end-user readiness, and adoption initiatives, ensuring successful implementation translates into measurable business value.
Customer Success Handover: Manage the transition from implementation to Customer Success and Support, providing complete documentation of delivered solutions, key decisions, outstanding issues, and ongoing requirements.
Implementation Framework Development: Build and maintain reusable implementation playbooks, templates, checklists, timelines, and readiness criteria to make deployments repeatable, efficient, and scalable.
Performance Measurement: Define and monitor delivery metrics, including time-to-value, milestone adherence, defect escape rates, and customer health, providing leadership with clear visibility into program performance.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor delivery professionals, establish high performance standards, and contribute to the development and scaling of the technical program management function.
Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring implementation challenges and translate lessons learned into product, platform, and process improvements that accelerate future deployments.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
At least 7 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in an equivalent technical delivery leadership role, preferably within a leading technology organization.
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex, cross-functional programs with significant external customer commitments and measurable delivery objectives.
Previous experience at a high-performing technology company such as Amazon/AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, or a comparable organization is strongly preferred.
Strong technical foundation, ideally developed through previous experience as a software engineer, solutions architect, or in a comparable technical role.
Ability to confidently interpret architecture diagrams, API specifications, data models, and technical documentation, and identify potential design gaps or integration challenges.
Proven track record of delivering enterprise customer implementations, technical integrations, or large-scale product launches against strict external deadlines.
Experience working with healthcare systems, health plans, payers, or other large, highly regulated organizations is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of enterprise integration environments, including EHR connectivity, APIs, data pipelines, security requirements, and system dependencies.
Experience leading technical design reviews and translating complex business requirements into clearly scoped and sequenced engineering work.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical readiness, UAT, deployment planning, go-live activities, and post-launch support.
Strong knowledge of healthcare data security and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, SOC 2, and Business Associate Agreements.
Exceptional customer-facing skills, with experience serving as the primary technical contact for demanding enterprise clients and leading executive steering committee meetings.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to translate complex program developments into concise, actionable executive-level updates.
Strong documentation skills, including the ability to prepare implementation plans, risk reports, project retrospectives, and correction-of-error reviews.
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and bias for action, with the ability to anticipate problems, make informed decisions, and drive initiatives through completion.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities and implementation requirements may evolve rapidly.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and maintain alignment without relying solely on formal authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, utilization management, or prior authorization, with an understanding of the operational and financial impact of claim denials.
Previous experience implementing AI or Machine Learning (ML) solutions in production environments for enterprise customers, particularly where outputs are non-deterministic.
Experience building and scaling a technical delivery or implementation function from the ground up.
PMP, SAFe, or other relevant project and program management certifications.
Experience preparing correction-of-error documentation and translating lessons learned into measurable operational improvements.
Strong interest in healthcare innovation and the application of AI to improve clinical and administrative workflows.

Benefits:

Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package designed to recognize technical expertise, program leadership, and relevant industry experience.
Remote Work: Fully remote working arrangements, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States.
Comprehensive Healthcare Coverage: Access to medical insurance to support your health and well-being.
Dental & Vision Insurance: Coverage options to help maintain your overall health.
Generous Paid Time Off: Flexible vacation policy to support personal time, rest, and work-life balance.
Company Holidays: Additional paid company holidays throughout the year.
Meaningful Professional Impact: Opportunity to contribute to innovative AI solutions that address significant healthcare challenges and improve patient outcomes.
Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with advanced AI, machine learning, healthcare data, and enterprise integration technologies.
Professional Growth: Gain exposure to complex enterprise implementations, strategic customer relationships, and leadership opportunities within a rapidly growing healthcare technology environment.
Collaborative Team Culture: Join a team of experienced healthcare and technology professionals who value ownership, integrity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
