Original job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Mobile based in the United States

Join a mission-driven fintech environment as a founding member of a mobile engineering team, building the next generation of mobile experiences for employees managing their retirement savings and plan administrators overseeing retirement plans. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to shape the mobile architecture, development practices, and release operations from the ground up, without legacy constraints. You will deliver polished iOS and Android experiences while solving complex challenges involving financial data, authentication, security, and performance. AI-powered coding agents will be an integral part of your engineering workflow, with you providing the technical direction and quality oversight. Working closely with Product, Design, and backend engineering teams, you will influence the technical roadmap and help establish standards for a reliable, accessible, and high-performing mobile platform.

Accountabilities

• Design, build, and ship high-quality mobile experiences for iOS and Android, supporting employees managing retirement savings and plan administrators managing retirement plans.

• Establish a modern, modular mobile codebase from scratch, with maintainable architecture, modern concurrency, clean dependency management, and testability.

• Direct AI coding agents throughout the software development lifecycle and help define effective agentic engineering workflows and quality standards.

• Develop secure fintech capabilities, including accurate real-time balances, secure authentication, biometric access, and protection of sensitive financial information.

• Own mobile release operations, including CI/CD pipelines, phased App Store and Google Play releases, feature flags, and automated UI testing.

• Monitor and improve app performance, crash-free sessions, reliability, and app store ratings through telemetry and continuous iteration.

• Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver accessible, intuitive interfaces, including polished animations, haptics, and data visualizations.

• Partner with backend engineers on API contracts, backend-driven UI, and decisions shaping the team's native and cross-platform architecture.

• Contribute to technical direction, code reviews, engineering standards, and knowledge sharing across the team.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of professional experience building and maintaining production software, including ownership of consumer mobile applications across multiple App Store and Google Play release cycles.

• Deep expertise in either native mobile development (Swift and SwiftUI, or Kotlin and Jetpack Compose) or cross-platform frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, or Kotlin Multiplatform.

• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, testing strategies, data structures, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.

• Proven ability to own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through release, monitoring, and iteration.

• Hands-on experience regularly using agentic coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor in production engineering work, with sound judgment around code quality, security, and testing.

• Familiarity with automated mobile testing tools such as XCUITest, Espresso, or Appium; device farms; client-side telemetry platforms such as Sentry, Firebase, or Datadog; and API contract design.

• Ability to work with backend technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, Kotlin, and AWS.

• Commitment to accessibility, maintainable code, and well-tested software.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, product awareness, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to solving customer problems.

• Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews and contributing to a strong engineering culture.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is typically expected.

• Experience building a mobile product from 0 to 1 and working in fintech, financial services, or other security-sensitive or regulated environments is a plus.

Benefits:

• Base salary: $190,000–$230,000, depending on geographic location, relevant skills, and experience.

• Potential additional compensation through bonuses and equity, depending on the position.

• Employer 401(k) match of 100% up to 4% of compensation, immediately vested, with no plan fees.

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

• Competitive paid time off and parental leave.

• Access to financial wellness resources and professional financial guidance.

• Enhanced mental health support for employees and dependents.

• Fertility care and family-forming benefits.

• Student loan planning and repayment resources.

• Monthly work-from-home stipend and quarterly lifestyle stipend.

• Virtual team activities and in-person team offsites.

• Remote work flexibility within the United States.
